DJ Sister Spinster the musical alter ego of Matriactivista is a feminist sound priestess, dance floor revolutionary, and celebrant of wild woman energy.

Born from rebellion, raised by rhythm, and rooted in sisterhood, she spins music for women who know that dancing is a form of resistance and joy is a radical act. Her sets are a collision of global beats, Latin fire, ancestral echoes, and riot grrrl heart — always unapologetically political, always in service of women.

Whether she's lighting up a protest, a birth celebration, or a late-night feminist rave, DJ Sister Spinster turns every beat into a battle cry — and every dance floor into sacred ground.

Whether for a dance floor, an art space, a birth celebration or a ritual gathering, she selects each track with intention, creating an atmosphere that honours women’s power, resistance, and joy. Why “Sister Spinster”?

Originally, spinster meant a woman who spun wool a skilled, self-sufficient craftswoman. Over time, patriarchy twisted the word into an insult: a woman who remained unmarried, as if being single were a failure.

But I reclaim it.

To me, a spinster is a woman who spins her own thread, her own fate — independent, creative, and unruly. She doesn't wait to be chosen; she chooses herself.

Sister connects me to a wider feminist sisterhood Women who uplift each other, challenge oppression, and rewrite the story together.

And yes, I spin records too weaving sound, story, and spirit. Music is part of the spell.
